Happy Monday!
Naturally, a theme that flowed from my Yoga class the other night was “water”. How to be water, how to feel like water, how to let your breath be water- all things water.
Usually the themes are born from what I feel called to speak on and after the class, I realized it was the start of Cancer season (an astrological sign that is under the element of water). Meant to be? I think so.
Here is what it told me:
Your breath is like a wave- feel it. Notice how it rises, how it expands, how it takes space in order for you to find yourself. Notice how it falls, how to comes back home, how it returns with nurture and care. Watch it as it crashes back into the sand and gently leaves again. Accept its rhythm.
Sometimes you need to sit back and watch it flow. Others times it’s better to jump in and be so fully with it, that you become it.
Your path is the water flowing down a stream.
It is already carved out and created just for you. You might not see what’s beyond the next curve, the next turn- but the path will guide you. Will you try and fight the current? Will you attempt to flee the path that’s been divinely sculpted for you? Or will you surrender and let it take you? The water in a stream doesn’t worry about where it will go next. It simply goes. Surrender and accept the path. Trust that you will still flow, even if you don’t know where to go.
Your feelings are depths of the ocean.
You can be dark and exist beautifully. You can be light and remain real. Sometimes we need to swim deeper to uncover the truth of what is living within. Other times, we need to catch some air, flow back to the top and take a breath with the lightness that the surface provides us. We don’t need to be scared of the depths nor rejecting towards to the surface. We are both the darkness of the ocean that only few experience, and we are also the glossy finish that glistens on top of the sea. Within you lives sacred darkness and divine light- keep exuding both.
Let yourself flow. Let your feelings rise and fall. Let them be big or small. Let you path appear. Surrender to the twists and turns. Be both a drop and also the entire ocean. Be free. Let your breath expand and connect again. Let yourself be water.
May you find freedom and flow as you dance with the waves,
Gab
